Did you know that the average American watches five hours and four minutes ofTV every day? That’s a ton of TV!

To be clear, I’m not judging. I watch plenty of it myself. In fact, I want toshow you how you can combine your interests with slot machines that take yourfavorite shows to a whole new level.

The Flintstones went on to become the most successful and continuously produced animated franchise in history, spawning many sequels and spinoffs including a full-length animated feature film in 1966 and two live-action movies in the 1990s. And now the Flintstones have inspired three slot machine games.

TV show slots are a type of licensed slot machine. The companies that own therights to the show will license out the rights to developers so they can createmachines based on them.

These slots are a lot of fun to play because they take elements from the showand integrate it into the game. This includes the characters, props, plots, specific scenes, and more.

So, instead of spending five hours in front of your television, I’m going tosuggest you use some (or all) of that time instead to sit in front of a TVshow-themed slot and enjoy the best of both worlds.

The following are the five best slot machines based on TV shows that Irecommend you start with.

Odds are, you’ve heard of Game of Thrones. More than 17 million peoplewatched the season 8 premiere. The 8th and final season was theworst, in my opinion. It was far too short, and there were several loose ends totie up. For example, Game of Thrones has been hinting toward a battle with theArmy of the Dead since the show first began. Do you remember how long the actualbattle lasted? 90 minutes.

It wasn’t very satisfying, if you ask me. Daenerys Targaryen finally tookdown Cersei Lannister’s forces at King’s Landing, but the battle only lasted foran episode. What’s worse is that Cersei and Jaime’s death was over in seconds.

Then, Daenerys went stark-raving mad in the span of a couple of episodes. Thesemi-good news is that the 8th season might not be the last. Somenews from cnet.com said you can bet on whether there will be a season 9.Boyle Sports was offering odds at 50:1 that HBO will shock the world with a 9thseason.

The chances are slim, but until then, you can get your Game of Thrones fix bywatching reruns. Or perhaps a more entertaining alternative would be to play aGame of Thrones slot machine instead.

Game of Thrones 243 Ways Slot Machine by Microgaming

The slot I recommend you play is Game of Thrones 243 Ways developed byMicrogaming.

Microgaming did a great job incorporating elements from the TV show into thismachine. The symbols include the house sigils and colors, the Iron Throne, theGame of Thrones logo, and letters written in medieval font.

Speaking of house sigils, the one feature you can trigger will have youchoose between four different houses. Each one will give you a different numberof spins and multipliers.

  • Baratheon – eight free spins and 5x multiplier
  • Lannister – ten free spins and a 4x multiplier
  • Stark – 14 free spins and a 3x multiplier
  • Targaryen – 18 free spins and 2x multiplier

What’s neat about this feature is that you can retrigger additional freegames if you get three more Iron Throne scatter symbols on any spin.

Choose the correct house, and you can win up to $121,000 (or up to $75,000 ifyou play the 15-payline slot machine).

There’s also a gamble feature where you’ll choose between heads or tails. With every successful flip, you’ll double your wins and move along the trail mapof Westeros. Get this wrong, however, and you’ll lose all the money you won upto that point.

Win or lose, this Game of Thrones slot machine is a ton of fun.

Who didn’t watch The Flintstones growing up? I remember watching this onTNT/TBS as a kid. I don’t remember any specific episodes, but it’s hard toforget Fred’s catchphrase (Yabba Dabba Doo!), his temper, Barney’s laugh, orBamm-Bamm.

The Flintstones slot machine is one of the first ones I look for whenever Igo to the casino. The oneI enjoy playing the most is from WMS. Unfortunately, I’ve not seen thisspecific slot machine offered online.

The good news is that there’s a Flintstones slot that you can play online. It’s from Playtech, so Americans won’t be able to play it for real money online.Everyone can playit for free on our site, though.

This machine definitely screams The Flintstones. The symbols include Fred andWilma Flintstone, Barney and Betty Rubble, Dino (the “dog”), a large meaty rib,and a prehistoric-looking telephone. There are a couple of neat features, too.

Bedrock Bowling Bonus

Get three bowling balls (on the 1st, 3rd, and 5threels) and Fred will take three shots at the pins. You will pick one of fourbowling styles that Fred will use to knock the pins down. These determine howmuch money you can win.

Each pin will represent a multiplier. The more pins Fred knocks down, thelarger the multiplier at the end of the game.

Get the house symbol on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4threel to trigger this feature. You’ll get to choose which of the following bonusmodes you want to use.

Dino Multiplier:
Get ten free spins. Every bonus Dino digs up will increase your multiplier.
The Great Gazoo:
Receive 12 free spins and a Great Gazoo wild symbol. This symbol can replace other symbols and turn them into wilds.
Wilma Wild:
You’ll get five free spins. Wilma will collect each wild symbol. Each wild will appear on the reels and start the Ultra Spin.

You can trigger additional free games while playing free games.

This is a Wheel of Fortune feature that’s triggered randomly. Mystery symbolsare placed randomly on the reels.

There are two wheels spinning at the top of the reels. One is your multiplierand the other is the symbol that will take the place of mystery symbols. Combinethese with the same symbols that you get during your spin, and you can securesome big wins.

The bottom line is that this machine is fun to play. And while I’m a biggerfan of the version from WMS, I can’t deny thatThe Flintstones fromPlaytech will make fans of the show very happy.

3. The Simpsons

I’m more of a South Park fan, but you can’t deny that The Simpsons paved theway for shows like Family Guy, American Dad, Archer, and many others.

And if you’ve watched The Simpsons, then you’re familiar with all thecharacters. You’ll recognize them and all the symbols in the slot machine I’mabout to share with you.

Now, one word of caution, thisThe Simpsons slot machinefrom Scientific Games isn’t available online. I’ve only played this machinein Las Vegas. It’s worth playing if you can find it, though.

What drew my wife and me to it is that it’s a two-seater. This gives ourbankroll a break since we can bet roughly the same amount, but that bet will bebetween two of us instead of on two separate machines.

It’s also a great way to spend time together on our vacation instead ofsplitting up for hours at a time. What’s more is that we prefer machines withbonus rounds and features, and The Simpsons slot machine definitely doesn’tdisappoint there.

Here are some of the features that you can trigger.

Get any of the characters in each of the four corners, and you’ll trigger are-spin. For example, if you get Krusty the Clown in all four corners, those andany other Krusty symbols will become sticky.

The reels will spin again. Your goal is to get more Krusty symbols. The moresymbols you get, the more money you win.

If you get the upgrade symbol, the value of each symbol will increase.Meaning, if 14 symbols are worth 800 credits, the upgrade symbol will make thosesame 14 credits worth 1,000 or 1,200 credits.

Once you stop getting that character’s symbol, the feature will be over.

Monorail Madness

Three sets of monorails scroll across the screen with credits you can windisplayed on each car. You’ll win however many credits land inside the viewingwindow. The viewing window will vary in width from game to game.

This feature is a play on how Bart frequently calls Moe’s to prank him. You’ll get to choose from four different names. Each one has a differentmultiplier. This multiplier will apply to that spin during the feature.

Wiggum-a-Roll

This is a “pick me” feature. Several Chief Wiggum cards will drop onto thereels. Each one has credits behind it that you can win. Pick cards to addcredits to your winnings. There’s also an “Award All” card that will give youthe prices from behind every card. This is the one you want to win.

And those are the major features from The Simpsons slot machine. There are afew others, but I’ll leave them for you to discover.

What I will say about the remaining features is that they get the playerinvolved. There’s a motion capture sensor in the machine for the bonus roundsthat require you to move your hands back and forth.

That alone is interesting enough for me to check out this machine. How manyother slots get you to move while you play? None come to my mind.

The takeaway here is that The Simpsons slot machine from Scientific Games isa blast to play. We never win much money playing this machine, yet we continueto play it regardless. And that should tell you something.

The Big Bang Theory is a popular TV sitcom created by Chuck Lorre. Lorre hascreated several other popular TV shows you’ve probably seen, including Will andGrace, Dharma & Greg, Two and a Half Men, Mike & Molly, and Young Sheldon.

The show follows the life of the following main characters.

Leonard Hofstadter:
An experimental physicist who shares an apartment with his colleague, Dr. Sheldon Cooper, until his wife moves in and Sheldon moves across the hall.
Sheldon Cooper:
A senior theoretical physicist at Caltech. He lives with Leonard until he marries and moves in with his wife, Amy Farrah Fowler.
Penny:
A waitress and aspiring actress. She’s the primary female character in the show. She befriends Leonard and Sheldon in earlier episodes, and later marries Leonard.
Howard Wolowitz:
Howard is different from the other characters in that he doesn’t have a doctorate and because he’s an engineer instead of a physicist. He eventually marries Bernadette Rostenkowski.
Raj Koothrappali:
He’s an astrophysicist who works in the Physics Department at Caltech. He has selective mutism, which only manifests when trying to talk to women outside of his family.
Amy Farrah Fowler:
She is a neuroscientist and has a PhD in neurobiology. Amy is Sheldon’s counterpart, awkward in social situations, displays little emotion, and is coldly rational. She marries Sheldon later in season 11.
Bernadette Rostenkowski:
She was a waitress who worked with Penny at The Cheesecake Factory. She used her wages to pay for her graduate studies in microbiology. She marries Howard in the 5th season the day before Howard leaves for his mission to the International Space Station.

Those are the main characters. However, the show is known for having nerdyguests on the show. For example, Buzz Aldrin, Wil Wheaton, Nathan Fillion, andCarrie Fisher have all been on the show at least once.

I highly recommend you check this show out. It took me a couple of episodesto get into it, but once I did, I was hooked!

Watching the show will makeThe Big Bang Theory slotmachine from Aristocrat more fun to play. You’ll get the jokes behind thesymbols, which include Bazinga!, a video game controller, Soft Kitty, and a StarTrek comic book.

The bonus rounds will make more sense, too. When you get three Bazinga!Symbols, the Wonder Wheel will spin. You can win credits or trigger one of thefollowing bonus games.

The Cooper Roommate Agreement

You’ll get eight free spins. Every Sheldon Cooper symbol is wild, and you canwin 432 different ways on every spin.

This is a “pick me” bonus game. You choose a Hero Card to decide what yourmultiplier will be. The heroes you get to choose from include the following.

  • The Amazing Rajesh
  • The Wolowizard
  • Sheldor the Conqueror
  • Princess Penelope
  • Leonard the Brave

You’ll pick from eight different cards, and your multiplier will be appliedagainst the credits you win.

This is a free game with a multiplier. You can pick the combination of spinsand multipliers you get from four options.

There are a few other games you can play, but I’ll let you discover those onyour own. If you’re a fan of The Big Bang Theory, I recommend youcheck thisslot machine out.

5. American Dad

The last machine on my list of TV-themed slots is American Dad. This is acartoon series created by Seth MacFarlane, the creator behind Family Guy.

Flintstones

I almost added a Family Guy slot machine to the list (especially sincewe have a free versionto play), but American Dad is the better show.

American Dad is about Stan, a super patriotic, Republican CIA agent and themishaps that he and his family get into. What makes the show interesting is thedynamics between each of the relationships.

For example, his son Steve is the polar opposite of Stan. He’s smart, notathletic, a bit of a nerd, and not good with girls. Then, there’s Hayley. She’sa liberal hippie and is anti-gun while being pro-marijuana, women’s rights, andis a vegetarian. Hayley stands for everything Stan doesn’t.

Steve and Hayley’s dynamic creates some funny moments for sure, but thebiggest twists in American Dad come from the two other supporting characters,Roger and Klaus.

Roger is an alien (yes, alien) who moved in with the Smiths after Roger savedStan one day. Roger living with them is Stan’s way of repaying his “life debt.”Roger is most known for is his love of using different personas and wearingdifferent costumes (which helps him leave the house without detection).

Klaus is a German man in the body of a goldfish. He once used to be an EastGerman Olympic ski jumper until the CIA transferred his brain into the fish.

These characters, the dynamics between them, and the shenanigans they getinto make for a funny and entertaining cartoon. That’s why playing the AmericanDad slot machine from Playtech was a no brainer for me.

This slot machine’s aesthetics definitely scream American Dad. The backgroundis an American flag, and the reels are blue with stars. The symbols include eachof the main characters in the show. This machine has a few features, too.

The first one is Roger as a wild symbol. What I like about this is that Rogerchanges into one of his personas whenever you win using the wild.

The other features are triggered when you get two or more American Dadsymbols. The feature will start if you get the American Dad symbol on the firstand third reel.

The first wheel will tell you which character’s feature you’re going to play, and the second will give you a multiplier. The last wheel isn’t mandatory to getto play the features. If you do get it, it’ll give you so many free games.

Here are the character features you can play.

Hayley’s Progressive Multiplier:
Hayley collects signatures for a cause. Each time a guy stops by to sign her sheet, your multiplier increases. Once a rival woman signature collector enters the picture, the girls will fight, and the reels will stop.
Roger’s Random Wilds:
The number on the second wheel will determine how many random wilds Roger will throw up. Literally.
Francine’s Holy Grail:
Klaus patches will appear randomly on the reels. If Francine gets a Klaus patch, she will turn into an expanded wild. The number on the reel will determine how many patches are randomly placed on the reels.
Stacking Stan:
Get additional Stan symbols that the machine will add. The number on the wheel will determine how many stacking Stan symbols you get.
Wheels and the Legman:
Wheels (Steve) and the Legman (Roger) run across the reels, leaving wild symbols in their wake. The wheel determines how many wild symbols they leave behind.

These features are basic. There isn’t any “pick me” or “choose your ownadventure” bonus games. This machine just has the basics like wilds, expandingwilds, and multipliers.

That’s okay, though. What makes this slot machine so much fun to play is thatevery feature is based on the characters in the TV show. If you’re a fan ofAmerican Dad, you’ll get the references. These references will make this slotmachine more fun to play.

The fact that you can play a slot machine based on a TV show you really likeis enough. This, to me, is the point of playing TV-themed slot machines in thefirst place.

There are many types of slot machines you can play. My favorites are licensed slots because you getto enjoy two of your interests at the same time.

TV show slot machines are a great combo. Most of us watch TV and have ourfavorite shows. It only makes sense to play slot machines based on those shows.Everything from the symbols to the bonus rounds is taken directly from them.

It makes me feel like I’m enjoying the show in a different way. And winningis just a bonus. You certainly don’t need to win to have a good time. When youget to that point, you know you’ve found a great slot machine to play.

The Flintstones is an animated cartoon that many of you reading this review will have grown up with. Fred Flintstone was the main protagonist of the series, where you’d follow the exploits of him and his best friend Barney Rubble and their long suffering wives, Wilma and Betty. You might be surprised to hear that the series were made between 1960 and 1966, with no more episodes ever made, although the series has spawned a whole host of spin-off shows, as well as TV movies and live action films. You can even visit one of two Flintstones based theme parks. In fact, until now, the only thing missing was a Flintstones slot machine!

This live casino slot has two main screens – the lower one where the action on the main reels take place and the one above where you’ll find parts of the bonus features of the game. The Flintstones slot has five reels with four symbols showing on each. When choosing your coin size you can add an extra twenty credits to gain extra features at the slot and this is highly recommended, as this game is effectively all about the features. You’ll be able to play for a variety of coin values and win lines as is usual at the majority of WMS slots

    Bedrock Bowling Feature

You’ll start this round by choosing one of a number of bowling balls, where each ball has a different multiplier attached. You’ll then choose an individual to bowl the ball – this will be Fred, Barney or any other member of the bowling team (you might see more than one Fred in a variety of outfits). You’ll see an animation of the ball being bowled and if a strike is fired, you’ll gain a win with the multiplier attached.

    Yabba Dabba Doo Feature

This is a round which sees you gain a series of extra wilds – these given to you the pet elephant squirting water down over the slot and Fred and Barney dropping wilds from above. During this feature, the size of the slot will actually expand, so each reel will first contain six symbols and then eight symbols as the wilds continue to grow in number. Eventually the reels will come to a halt and you’ll hopefully gain a nice win with all of these wilds.

    Bamm Bamm Feature

During this feature you’ll once again gain many extra wilds, this happening when Bamm Bamm whacks the slot with her club. You’ll not receive as many wilds as in the Yabba Dabba Doo feature, but this is offset by the fact that the reels do not expand during this round.

There are three other features at the slot. The Pebbles Beauty contest sees on-screen voting taking place and the more votes Pebbles gains, the more real money you’ll win at the feature. The Dino feature sees Fred being continually licked by their pet dinosaur – the longer he licks him the more credits you’ll win. The final, slightly different feature sees a wheel of fortune style wheel showing a variety of large multiplier values – some of these amounts are huge, with the two largest reserved for the segments that also host Fred and Barney. Land one of these and you’ll have a very nice windfall.

    Flintstones Slot Conclusion

    Flintstones Slot Machine Locations

With the Flintstones being such a successful series over the years, there was actually some pressure on WMS to replicate this success at the slot. It looks to me like they achieved it. The slot has a great variety of features, all of these interspersed with clips from the cartoons themselves. With such a mixture of features, this is a slot that will remain fresh for a long time as you’ll continually strive to activate each one. As you would expect from a Flintstones slot, the game has a great sense of humor and is full of big and bold colors, making for a great experience overall. This is a job well done by WMS.

    About The Flintstones

The Flintstones was produced by Hanna-Barbera and first aired on the 30th September 1960. The series would run until April 1, 1966 and in this time there were six seasons, with a total of 166 episodes. The Flintstones centered around two families – the Flintstones themselves and their neighbor’s the Rubbles.

Fred Flintstone is the main character of the series and is a bronto-crane operator at the Slate Rock and Gravel Company. He is a keen bowler and a member of the ‘Loyal Order of the Water Buffaloes’. Fred is married to Wilma and father to Pebbles, the daughter who was born at the end of the third season. Wilma is much more sensible than her husband, although she does like to spend money often. Dino is their pet and is continually knocking Fred over, while baby Puss is rarely seen during the show itself, but appears in the credits, famously throwing Fred out of the house.

The Rubbles live next door and Barney Rubble is the best friend and workmate of Fred. They enjoy an up and down relationship due to Fred Flintstone’s notoriously short temper, but this is always resolved by the end of an episode. Barney’s wife Betty is best friends with Wilma and they are continually seen gossiping and shopping. Bamm-Bamm is Barney and Betty’s adopted son, after they found him in a turtle shell outside their door.

In 1994, 28 years after the last episode aired, the first Flintstones movie appeared. This film had a star-studded cast, including John Goodman as Fred and Elizabeth Perkins as Wilma. Kyle McLachlan also appeared as Fred’s boss. A less successful sequel was made in 2000.
