New Year's eve is a great time to be in Vegas. Ring out the old and ring in the new, the Las Vegas way. Las Vegas New Year's Eve is always packed on the Vegas strip and don't expect this year to be any different.

The 2019 - 2020 Las Vegas new year's eve celebrations drew over 330,000 visitors to Las Vegas and this year's crowd is expected to be larger. The entire 4 miles of the Vegas strip, from Russell to Sahara, which covers all hotels from Mandalay Bay at the Strip's southern end to Stratosphere at the north, will be closed down to traffic around 6pm.

On this night, the Vegas Strip becomes a giant pedestrian mall and everyone parties outside till midnight. Tens of thousands of visitors walk the Vegas strip decked out in silly hats, noisemakers and holiday cheer. Las Vegas New Year's Eve 2020 will include a spectacular fireworks show.

It's going to be freezing! Bundle up. It also helps to have a plan 3 or 4 hours before midnight. If you plan to celebrate indoors, remember once it hits 11:00 p.m., majority of the hotels on the Strip stop letting people in.(You will require a room key to access the property). They re-open their doors around 1:00 a.m. (To avoid crazy drunk people I guess). Actually it's their way of keeping the crowds inside the casino within occupancy limits set by Clark county. You don't want to find yourself stuck outside and have to use the bathroom.

If you don't want to spend money on hotel, food and don't like crowds, New Year's is not the time to be in Vegas. People come from all over the world for this holiday and it's as busy as it gets. Sadly everything is really expensive during this time.

2020 Las Vegas New Year's Eve Fireworks

If you are looking for a place to be on New Year's Eve as the clock strikes 12 midnight, you should know that the world-famous Las Vegas Strip will be the site for America's Party.

The 2020 Las Vegas strip fireworks display calls for fireworks to be shot from seven casino rooftops this year. There will be music choreographed to popular hits as the fireworks are shot from the rooftops (South to North) of the

Treasure IslandThe Venetian
The STRAT Hotel Casino and SkyPod

Check the weather!

The fireworks show will last 8 minutes and 18 seconds and consist of more than 80,000 fireworks explosions, choreographed to one-of-a-kind performance with an exhilarating music mix.

Free spots to watch fireworks on the Strip

Besides getting to the Vegas strip early and securing a great spot with a view of the roof-top of one of the hotels listed above, another great place to enjoy great view of the midnight fireworks is the upper floors of various parking garages.

If you can get there early, any of the pedestrian bridges across the Strip will provide the perfect view of the fireworks.

If you don't mind the shoulder-to-shoulder crowd, staking out a position right in front of Caesars Palace will give you a great spot to enjoy the fireworks launch from the roof top of Caesars Palace.

2020 New Year's Eve 'America's Party' at Fremont Street Experience

Besides the Vegas strip, another great place to rock the night away and ring in 2020 in Las Vegas would be at the Fremont Street Experience in downtown Vegas.

The theme for the 2020 America's Party is 'The Big 20', marking the 20th NYE fireworks show in Las Vegas. This year the best of the best will be performing hours of live concerts. There will be onstage pyrotechnic celebration at midnight and surprises galore. Enjoy 12 bands on four stages, including a dazzling EDM stage with alluring dancers and aerialists. Las Vegas New Year's Eve 2020 survival tips

Get to the strip early, around 5 or 6 p.m. Earlier if possible because they will close the strip down around 6 p.m.

If you plan to ring in the New Year at Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas, plan to get there early.

If you drive, park your car in the hotel garage nearest to where you'll be partying. Most Strip Valet and Self-Park garages are expected to be full by 5:00 pm. Once you park, do the smart thing and take a photo of the garage and floor where you parked, incase you need it later. Remember, you won't be able to leave until well after midnight.

If you're going to a party in a club, enjoy it for all it's worth considering what it will cost to get in. Also be aware you can step outside to watch the New Year's fireworks displays but check with the club first.

Dress warm. Las Vegas is a desert and it gets very cold at night.

Hollywood

Beware of the 'mystery kissers', who just kiss someone at random at the New Year. They're OK and funny,

It does get crowded and very loud. Basically, it's lots of people, food, alcohol, music, dancing, drunks and 100% fun.

Just because you are in Vegas doesn't mean there are no laws. Take a minute to read the Las Vegas New Year's Eve Ordinances to understand what you can and cannot get away with. The cops here do not play and the famous, 'I'am a tourist' excuse does not work for them.

Don't be afraid to sip your favorite drink as you go - alcohol is allowed to be consumed on the streets for this holiday celebration. (Must be 21 yrs or older) - metal and glass containers are banned.

Beware of the city's general curfew and the Fremont Street area curfew. Anyone under 18 years old must now be accompanied by an adult.

The Las Vegas Monorail will be the only public transportation operating on the strip. Trains will be running until 3 a.m. Jan. 1.

Bus Routes 201 (Tropicana Avenue), 202 (Flamingo Road), and 203 (Spring Mtn. Road / Desert Inn Road / Lamb Blvd) will provide the closest possible access to the Strip but will not stop on the Strip.

If you are planing to get to a particular hotel on the Strip after the strip closure, here are buses and New Year's Eve bus stops close to the Vegas strip.

Note:The Vegas Strip is scheduled to close to vehicle traffic around 6:00 p.m. on New Year's Eve
